What string lights are good for

Patios, pergolas, trees, backyard parties. Soft, warm, easy to take down. The look is intentional and casual.

Bad on a roofline: visible cord, sags within a season, fades fast in Central Valley UV.

Rooflines, eaves, soffits, columns, the architectural lines of the house. Invisible by day. Color-controllable. Lasts 17+ years.

Bad over a patio: there's no track to mount to and the look isn't right for an intimate seating area.
