Trimlight is one of the more established permanent outdoor lighting brands, with dealer presence in most US metros. The system uses individually-addressable RGB LEDs in an aluminum channel, mounted under the eave or along architectural lines, controlled by an app.

On hardware: Trimlight is a mature, well-understood platform. Jellyfish RGBIC-RD (what we install) is a newer chip generation with finer pixel pitch — meaning gradients and pixel-by-pixel animations look smoother. The visual difference is subtle on solid colors and obvious on flowing patterns.

On app: Jellyfish ships with a more current-generation interface and a larger preset library. Trimlight is functional and stable but feels a generation behind in UX.

On warranty: Jellyfish offers 5-year warranty plus a 5-year LED warranty. Trimlight typically offers 3-year warranty. Two extra years on the LEDs is roughly 300 dollars of value over the system lifespan.

Locally in Fresno, both have authorized dealers. We are the Jellyfish dealer. The honest answer: pick the dealer you trust to be there in year four when something needs service.
